Sữa tươi tiệt trùng là sữa tươi được xử lý ở nhiệt độ cao từ 138 - 141 độ C trong 2 - 4 giây, làm mất hại khuẩn và lợi khuẩn trong sữa. Sau đó được làm lạnh nhanh và đóng gói trong bao bì tiệt trùng đặc biệt.

Sữa tươi tiệt trùng có thể bảo quản ở nhiệt độ bình thường, trong thời gian 6 tháng đến 1 năm. Tỷ lệ vitamin của sữa tươi tiệt trùng có bị mất mát trong quá trình xử lý nhưng không đáng kể.
